5 extreme rides you can find at a Disney park

When people think of Disney parks family friendly fun for all comes to mind. Most things that comes to mind involve children rides like the classic Mad Tea Party or It’s a Small World. However, while this is true, it is not always the case. Disney has a lot of cool rides to offer meant for other people to enjoy. The rides in this list are meant for people prepared to take on something extreme. These are the top 5 extreme rides in a Disney park!

5. Space Mountain

7818

Locations: Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland

Everybody knows this Disney ride. It’s a ride the whole family can enjoy. However, this ride is actually pretty intense for a Disney ride. When looking at a lot of other Disney roller coasters, this ride doesn’t even compare. However, for a family ride it far surpasses my expectations in terms of extreme. The other family friendly roller coasters in Disney parks such as Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, the Matterhorn, and others, don’t even seem like they should be in the same category. Space Mountain goes extremely fast and is constantly making sharp unexpected turns. While not the most extreme ride Disney has to offer, for what it is it deserves a spot on this list.

4. Mission: SPACE

6121

Location: Walt Disney World

This incredible ride, located in Epcot is a unique ride unlike anything else. The ride is a motion simulator that simulates a mission to space. It’s a great ride that has amazing visuals and truly is extreme. Riders are enclosed in a capsule and spin around to simulate a crazy space adventure. The ride starts out calm, but then quickly changes into a fast moving ride that truly makes you feel like you’re traveling around space. With the feeling of objects flying toward you and spinning and whirling through this crazy adventure, this ride is undoubtedly extreme

3. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

6471

Locations: Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris

This indoor roller coaster featuring music from Aerosmith is crazy fast and an ideal thrill ride. It is the second fastest ride in Walt Disney World and the fastest in Disneyland Paris. This ride is one of the fastest I’ve ever experienced. From beginning to end the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster never slows down. It is constantly making turn and speeding through the track at an incredible speed. Within 2.8 seconds, this crazy experience takes the rider 0 to 57 mph! That is definitely extreme!

2. California Screamin’

7792

Locations: Disney California Adventure, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Disney Studios

This is my all time favorite ride at the Disneyland location in Anaheim, California. This is another ride that goes at an insanely fast speed. From beginning to end, this ride starts out at a high speed and doesn’t slow down. What makes this ride so extreme is the incredible speed, the  loop, and the amazing 108 feet drop! This ride is sure to satisfy any lover of thrill rides.

1. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

6478

Locations: Disney California Adventure, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tokyo DisneySea, and Walt Disney Studio Parks in Paris

When I think of this ride, the first word that comes to mind is extreme. In the style of an elevator cart, the ride simulates an elevator that’s out of control, with continuous drops. No two rides are the same. The randomized drops really adds to the experience and just makes it that more thrilling. With the speed and insanity of such a large drop this ride is incredibly thrilling and in my mind is most definitely the most extreme ride I’ve experienced at a Disney park.

It has been many years since I’ve been to Disneyland.
After reading your article concerning all the new additions at the Disney theme parks it has made me realize it’s time to take another trip to Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom ..
Besides that I miss my favorite character Goofy..
