It’s WinterFest at California’s Great America and the party is on! In select dates November 24-December 30, the park transformers into a winter wonderland, complete with holiday attractions, wonderful Christmas shows and much more. So without further ado, here are our top 5 experience for the event:
1. Snowflake Lake Skate
Just in front of the park’s famous Carousel Columbia there is an awesome holiday ice skating rink. It is so much fun!
2. Tree Lighting Ceremony
The Tree Lighting Ceremony starts with some lively performance of beloved Christmas songs, which culminates with the lighting of the super impressive 64-foot tall tree. You only have one opportunity to see this show, as it is the only one that doesn’t repeat. Make sure not to miss it- it’s really great.
3. It’s Christmas, Snoopy!
A terrific ice-skating show with the star of the California’s Great America- Snoopy!
Snoopy moves to the rhythm with a cast of singers, skaters, and fellow PEANUTS friends. This show is a true fan favorite show and tends to be VERY popular with the guests, so it’s a good idea to arrive early, to ensure you will see it.
4. Candy Cane Lane
This is an awe inspiring whimsical area with huge(!) gingerbread houses and candy canes. It’s too bad you can’t eat them (they look delicious), but you can certainly take the perfect picture with Ms. Candy Cane herself. There are other surprises and friends within this area.
5. St. Nick’s Pics
Of course, what’s a Christmas event without Santa Claus? At St. Nick’s Pics guests can meet with the man of the hour, Father Christmas. Santa Claus was super authentic, friendly and completely convincing.
Young guests can also take a picture with everyone’s favorite- Snoopy is his festive costume at Charlie Brown’s Christmas Town.
